- This painting depicts designs associated with the rockhole site of Yilpikarri, south of the Tjukurla community in Western Australia. The roundel in the painting represents the rockhole at the site. A group of women passed through Yilpikarri during their travels from Yumarra to Punkilpirri and then north to Tjukurla and Tjalili. While they were travelling the women collected mangata (quandong), which is a traditional staple food much sought after throughout this region. The Mingari (Thorny Devil) Dreaming is associated with this area. In ancestral times a thorny devil camped in the area. She was heavily pregnant with many eggs but despite a lot of pain was unable to give birth. Her stomach eventually cracked open and all the eggs rolled out. These eggs are said to have formed the rocky hills at these sites. The lines in the painting depict the tracks of the mingari as well as the tali (sandhills) surrounding the site.
