- Artist Statement
- The work “YesNo”, initially uses text as a generator of form, merging the letters of simple words to retain traces of meaning while opening them to abstraction and interpretation. The addition of glaze and texture highlights their transformation from two dimensions into three. The pieces are then rotated, removing their readability completely. What remains are abstracted forms that invite the viewer into a moment of discovery, where they may perceive symbols, unexpected figurative forms, or new visual languages. As the pieces move into different relationships with one another, the viewer’s perception shifts eventually finding a point of balance.
