- Artist Statement
- My sculptural artist book of multi-plate etchings is a natural extension to my Printmaking practice. Inspired by the poem, The biome by Australian poet Kristen Lang (Earth Dwellers publication) it refers to displacement occurring in oceans and reefs, driven by humanity's unwavering impact on our waters. Each intaglio etching is hand rolled, each with a title derived from words in the poem and each lay side by side, like modern-day manuscripts offering the viewer visual storytelling. The work draws on Lang’s powerful words reminding us to respect and protect our fragile ecosystems. I am a Melbourne artist represented by Gallerysmith.
