- Artist Statement
- My work is centred on the idea of artistic collaboration with Country. Even now, with war on the horizon, when concrete covers the soil, when genocides and climate catastrophes demand all our attention—it is necessary to listen to the land. This work is made from light falling on the cadavers of a chipmunk and a squirrel, found in New York late last year, before darkness and social unrest swallowed that city. I wanted to remind people that stars and nebulae still illuminate the world, even when it feels like all the other lights have gone out.
