- Born in Fregon, Fiona Pompey addresses the sweeping, undulated sand-hills of the surrounding desert country. Her paintings draw influence from her late Mother, Kunmanara (Tali Tali) Pompey, who is well known for her powerful desert paintings. The small, rounded shapes reflect the habitat of shrubs, trees and bushes. These grow on the sides and at the base of the sand-hill where the water collects. They provide a valuable source of many food bearing grasses and shrubs. Fiona currently lives in Fregon, SA, where she is often painting in the studio of Kaltjiti Arts.
