- I travel on a tram around this corner quite a lot and I was struck by the amount of traffic lights and signs there were. Then as I looked into the landscape further you start to realize the area is literally surrounded by man-made objects – above you, below you, side to side – you are engulfed. The tram wires fill the sky, the tram tracks cover the ground, then in-between we have a sea of signs, poles, communication boxes, electricity boxes, traffic lights, rubbish bins, painted lines, lights, branding and boundary fences; the one lone figure is completely surrounded.
