- Spinifex inspires my latest Pilbara series—a plant that thrives in heat and arid rock yet remains fragile. Once broken, it does not regrow. I am drawn to this balance of resilience and vulnerability. This work captures spinifex in its natural state, untouched by cattle or mining, growing high in protected landscapes. It is also a testament to female friendship and collaboration. At Karijini, I walked at dawn with fellow artists, in “pyjamas and boots”, among white tree trunks and long spinifex, immersed in its quiet beauty.
