- In Sunken Water Gardens สวนใต้น้ำ, I explore my Thai heritage and ancestral mythology through ethereal underwater still-life landscapes. Plants, flowers, and fish create tranquil, meditative scenes connecting the living with the divine. Compositions echo the ceremonial beauty of Phuang Malai, floral garlands linked to my mother’s names, Mali and Ladawan. Emerald and jewel-toned fabrics reference Thai silks, while gold accents recall traditional gilded art. Black fish among orchids evoke nāga, water deities, and a chambered nautilus suspended among plants mirrors krathongs, offerings on water. Through these images, I weave family memory, cultural symbolism, and contemporary artistic expression.
