- Artist Statement
- Leah has painted Lirrwarti, her grandmother Ningie Nanala's Country, located south of Balgo near Piparr. This is where Leah's grandmother spent her youth. The painting depicts the vast tali (sand dunes) that stretch from her grandmother's Country all the way to her grandfather Tjumpo Tjapangka's Country near Wilkinkarra (Lake Mackay). Between the sand dunes, an abundance of mangarri (bush foods) thrives, including kantilli, pintalypa (bush tomatoes), and kanpurrpa (raisins).
