- Artist Statement
- Laura is a self‑taught abstract artist whose work is shaped by the experience of relocation. After moving from Europe to Australia in 2011, she became aware of the absence of history that had once grounded her. Painting became a way to hold onto that sense of time and place. She builds and uncovers layered surfaces that balance control and chaos. Strong forms provide structure while accumulated marks reveal memory, change, and uncertainty. Using acrylics, spray paint, oil sticks, and pastels, she works intuitively with colour and texture, exploring longing, reconstruction, and the emotional pull of places left behind.
