- My painting explores cybernetic patterns and predictive algorithms, linking ancient and contemporary techno-telepathies. The moirés reference both video vector distortion, and ocean-surface patterns read by ancient mariners as if they had a six sense. The painting also pops with images of psychedelic mushrooms tied to telepathic ancestor communications; pre-radar aircraft detection devices resembling giant metal ears; and tech entrepreneur Mary Lou Jepsen’s demonstrations of functional near-infrared spectroscopy, revealing light’s penetration of the body and brain via digital medical telepathics that accompany her development of brain–computer interfaces. Pink synaptic neurons inspired by neuroscientist Santiago Ramón y Cajal flicker within the moirés.
