- Illuminated portrait of Shiona Herbert, produced using long-exposure photography and fibre-optic light. Photographed in Carnamah in North Midlands, Midwest of Western Australia and set against darkened skies, Shiona emerges as a luminous presence, a beacon of light within the surrounding darkness. Part of a series called ‘Beneath Dark Skies’ and photographed entirely at night, the work examines identity, diversity, and inclusion and on how community nurtures wellbeing and sustains the social fabric. When joined together, these threads engender strength and resilience.
