- This self-portrait sits within an ongoing exploration of domestic labour, care, and the invisible systems women hold together. Set at the table where food is prepared and knowledge is passed on, the image acknowledges moments when the performance of care slips, revealing fatigue, responsibility, and endurance. I am interested in how maternal labour is both intimate and structural—learned through repetition, touch, and attention. The work resists idealised narratives of motherhood, instead offering a quieter, unresolved moment of holding and being held within everyday domestic life.
