- This work emerges from experimentations with abstract painting through tools associated with domestic labour. Using kitchen wipes, scrubbers, and other household implements, I explore how gestures linked to women’s work can be translated into painterly action. Repetitive motions of wiping and scrubbing leave layered marks that accumulate across the surface, recording time, movement, and pressure. These actions shift between making and erasing, producing a dense chromatic field that renders invisible labour visible. The work considers how everyday tools and gestures might expand the language of abstraction, allowing domestic labour to be felt materially.
